About

The MAHF is a non-profit founded in 1996 to document the history of the industry and honor those who founded it and built it. As the organization expanded, so did its mission. The Hall’s mission is defined by three pillars:

Honor: We recognize individuals whose contributions have made a lasting impact on our industry—through induction into The Hall and annual celebrations of those who exemplify the highest standards in healthcare communications.

Cultivate: We provide our members with educational resources and programming designed to support professionals across every stage of their careers—from recruiting new talent to developing seasoned leaders.

Change: At The Hall, change is driven by purpose and collaboration. We work together to strengthen the medical advertising industry through bold advocacy and thought leadership. From sparking new conversations to challenging conventional approaches, our initiatives are designed to elevate the standards of healthcare communications. Through curated content, executive dialogues, and strategic programming, we aim to inspire innovation, inform decision-making, and improve outcomes across the field.

In 1996, two visionary friends—and revered industry icons—David Gideon and Ron Pantello—set forth an idea to preserve, celebrate, and elevate the artistry of medical advertising. What began as a heartfelt tribute to the pioneers of our field has since flourished into a living institution: one that honors excellence, cultivates talent, and inspires meaningful change.

Today, The Hall stands as a testament to David’s and Ron’s enduring vision—a vibrant community where legacy and leadership converge, and where the voices of our most influential minds continue to echo, guiding and inspiring the next generation. From the earliest creative breakthroughs to the boundless possibilities of the digital age, The Hall embodies the timeless spirit of innovation that David and Ron championed—an enduring legacy shaping the future of healthcare communications.

Do you know a legend who qualifies? As long as your candidate is retired from their primary career in this business, anybody who made a significant impact on medical advertising can be nominated: a creative genius, a publishing prodigy, a media mogul, an account guru, a branding star…

Anyone may nominate a candidate for induction.

For the most part, representatives are the CEOs of member agencies, but sometimes, time constraints cause CEOs to name senior executives to represent their organizations.

Our primary activity is our Annual Awards Dinner, where inductees are honored. The Awards Dinner is held on the first Thursday of February. The Heritage Award, Digital Pioneer Award, DEI Social Media Challenge winners and Future Famers are also celebrated.

Our secondary activities involve documenting the industry’s history and providing educational and DEI programs for our members.

The 2026 Gala is set for February 12th at The Pierre in NYC.

We typically hold quarterly board meetings that the board reps need to attend. Member volunteers handle all of our initiatives, so your time commitment will depend on what you raise your hand to be involved in. We have numerous subcommittees formed to tackle initiatives.

Membership is at the corporate level. Annual dues are based on billings:

  • over $50M — $6,000
  • $25-50M — $4,200
  • $10-25M — $3,000
  • under $10M — $1,800
